“ I have been to Maggie Valley many times and I never would have thought to find an amazing Italian restaurant here. Looking back on it, I should have known the food would be phenomenal based on the way the place looks and sounds. Everything is spotless and the decor is right on the money. This is all while a piano player does his thing--and does it well. The staff is also very sharp and professionally polite. The bread was great and the Chicken Parm and pasta were the best I have had in a long time--and it's a large portion. The salad was pretty good. One thing about the Chicken Parm, pasta, and bread is that they were all somewhere between warm and hot. This is probably normal and preferred by most diners but I like my food piping hot. It still didn't take away from the experience. The prices are a little high but only in a factual sense. You get what you pay for and as far as value, the prices are perfect. They need to maintain a high-quality businesses. This place is quite a difference from the last Italian restaurant I visited (see reviews). I'm not in Maggie Valley often at all but I know where to go when in town. Highly recommended. ”
“ We recently visited Italy for the first time. Having been told by many that the food was exquisite, we were looking forward to experiencing true Italian cuisine for ourselves. And it was good, but we weren't as impressed as we'd expected. Why? we wondered. Then we realized. It's because we're spoiled with our very own taste of Italy right nearby, in our own hometown community. Frankie's is our favorite Italian restaurant, and we've eaten in big cities like NYC, Chicago, and Boston. Still, the dining experience--including the wait staff, the bartenders, and the management, not to mention the food--is tops right here in Haywood County's very own Frankie's Italian Trattoria. We keep coming back! And we're so grateful such a wonderful restaurant is right around the corner! ”
“ Great food great service. We've been going there for 9 years now. I've had almost everything in the menu and it's all good! The chicken piccata is my fav!! ”
“ Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Waiters Josh and Adam were very attentive. Hostess made sure our table has confetti for our 40th anniversary and I ordered Truffles from market they have. She placed on table and on box was written happy anniversary. Food was hot and delicious. A piano player in bar was heard in dining area. White table cloth . Calamari appetizer, Shrimp Fradiavlo, husband had seafood medly over linguine all delicious. Dessert canoli delivered with a candle. Great anniversary. Highly recommend Frankies. ”
“ My husband and I drove 2 hours so that I could come back and have their bruschetta. Let me tell you. I am a snob when it comes to most foods. This bruschetta is the best. I mean the best bruschetta I have ever had. I have had it in a lot of restaurants, but this place is hands down the best from New York City to Florida. This restaurant is worth the drive. The bruschetta comes out on a whole pizza crust drizzled with a delicious garlic base. So if you want something fresh tasting stop by this place. I wish I could make my own as good as the one I get here. ”
“ Made our reservation around 730 online and place was hopping when we got there. There was band outside and inside in lounge area by bar was a piano player. We sat a few minutes but not long before we were seated in lounge in booth. They do have a quiet dining area with linen table cloths but that was full for our time slot. Our server was Kelly.. she was very sweet and attentive. We ordered little neck clams in wine sauce that was so good! Hubby wanted pizza to take home and had lasagna which he said was real good. I ordered veal parm because I can not get it back home anywhere.. also ordered a few mixed drinks while hubby made wine choice they gave him table service for. We enjoyed our meal had plenty to take home and were not rushed at all. They even had gift store on other side of restaurant.. very good place for Italian food in mountains!! ”
“ Had another wonderful date night / dinner experience at Frankies The hostess kept us updated a couple times on our wait which was quite short considering it was Memorial Day weekend and they were busy as usual ( SO many restaurants have poor communication front of the house that sets the wrong tone for dinner - not Frankies , the young ladies were friendly and communicative ) We sat in the restaurant side while the lounge / bar area was busy but not over crowded and had nice piano music ( no vocals ) being played Our waitress Karen was prompt and attentive - Their fresh out of the oven bread is terrific with its dipping oil ( so good we had 2 baskets :) ) My Caesar salad with its dressing is always cold and fresh and with homemade croutons vs bulk buy commercial - My wife had Minestrone which she always enjoys and comments how flavorful it is We enjoyed a nice Gaja Super Tuscan bottle of wine that was reasonably priced over retail to cover their overhead My Fettuccine Alfredo was creamy and very flavorful without being too thick - My wife had chicken Parm with a side of pasta - She raved at the texture of the chicken and how well cooked / moist the chicken was versus being dry like many restaurants who try to cook it old school style If you are in Waynesville / Maggie Valley area and want a nice Italian dinner thats not too pricy but well done - Frankie's is the choice ! ”
“ My first time at Frankie's and I must say the food was delicious. We had made reservations and was immediately greeted and seated. Fresh bread was immediately brought to our table. My friend had a glass of wine and I ordered the Italian Twist. For my meal I had the manicotti and my friend had the chicken parmigiana. Both were delicious. Lots of cheese in the manicotti and the pasta was tender. I would definitely recommend both dishes. They have a full bar and a large wine list. I love lemon drop martini's and the Italian Twist was a close comparison. It was different but still delicious. Service was slow, but it's tourist season and expected. All of the staff were very accommodating and friendly. Give them a try if you're in the area - they won't disappoint. ”
“ We were in town just for the day and my hubby was craving meatballs like crazy. We made reservations online but were surprised how few people were in the dining room. Those that were in the dinning room had all been there before, many were locals and most knew the server. That's ALWAYS a good sign. The service was good, the portions were giant and the food tasted lovely. The only things we weren't excited about was that it was weird to be served room temperature water and not even offered glasses with ice when that's all we were drinking and second, my pasta, the Vodka Penne was advertised with pancetta and tomatoes. It had NONE of either on it or in it. I literally found one tiny, tiny piece of pancetta that was about 1/4 inch square in my entire bowl. That was a HUGE disappointment. I should have said something to the server but I don't recall them coming back until we were ready for boxes. Otherwise it was a very good experience. ”
